We all experience times in our lives when we feel impatient and restless. I don’t necessarily mean that “cabin fever” type of restlessness, where our physical bodies have been stationary for too long and need to get moving, though it can manifest that way. What I am talking about is something internal: feeling antsy for unclear reasons, thinking constantly that something has to change, sensing an urge to move or change something in our external environments, or just feeling impatient, restless, even irritable without understanding why. This restlessness can be uncomfortable and cause us to act rashly or harshly towards others. However, if we embrace this internal churning, we can harness its energy to bring about the change in our lives that it is trying bring about.
During this month of March 2015 we will have the last of seven exact Uranus-Pluto squares. Pluto brings in transformation, and airy Uranus brings in potential restlessness. To add to the building up of energy, Mars is conjoining Uranus in his own sign of Aries. Sparks could fly, suddenly and unexpectedly, but we can do our best to embrace and channel all this energy into growth and transformation, rather than into rebellion and conflict.
Internal restlessness can be seen as our souls, our higher selves, Spirit, or God stirring movement and change deep within us to allow us to grow and bring positive change into our lives and external world. To embrace it, we can start by acknowledging and accepting the potential for growth and change. Sometimes just a change in perspective can shift things dramatically. Artistic outlets and meditation practices can help calm the mind. Of course, it can be very challenging to sit still in mediation or prayer when we are feeling so restless, so a form of moving meditation, such as a yoga asana and pranayama practice, walking a labyrinth, or even a challenging workout where the mind has to be focused can help us focus this windy energy into a productive and transformative force in our lives.
Accepting and embracing change within ourselves leads us to a sense of inner peace and puts us in a better place to handle change. These are times of much movement and change, universally, astrologically, and spiritually. Let us all try to harness these winds of change to calm the stormy seas and navigate ourselves smoothly through change, growth, and transformation.
Awesome wind that rings my chimes.
Loved this piece and have definitely felt that restlessness at different times in my life. Good advice.
I have definitely been feeling this energy! 🙂
As so often happens, you give “voice” to my internal process. Thanks!
Karen
It is quite windy indeed!
